Etymotic Earplugs

Recently got myself a pair of universal Etymotic earplugs from Jaben which is located at The Adelphi. Cost $28 a pair. I strongly advise those who club frequently to get these earplugs for some ear protection. The levels in clubs are so loud and the ears will get damaged permanently! Once it is lost it is lost! We will never regain it back...Now i have ringing in my ears already..time to play safe! I wore those when I was at Zirca last month, thankfully I had those earplugs! So what are you waiting for?! Get it soon!

We are featured on Magmug!

Extracted from Magmug:

Armed with a mission to bring about the hardstyle dance scene in Asia, DJ Zilch from Sydney and DJ Formica from Singapore made stunning appearances in Singapore’s first hard-dance shuffle event: Our very own Magmug’s Hardstyle Climax. The fantastic duo brought Snow City down with the hard trance, hardstyle, electro and techno, providing the music for the very enthusiastic local shuffling crews all night.

DJ Zilch started off as a young man fascinated with the world of electronic dance music in Sydney. In 2004, he bought a pair of turntables and some vinyls and learnt to mix on his own, before crafting mixtape CDs and posting them online. It wasn’t before long till his mix tapes got noticed and became a hit in the Sydney scene and internet forums. He was then offered to spin at various clubs and events. That was how it all started, the craze for electronic dance music. Hitting it off well with the dance scene music in Sydney between 2004-2009, DJ Zilch played and became a resident DJ at every major trance clubs and events, such as Energy, Daydreams, Basscode, Wanted, A Night Of Trance, shuffle.com parties, and electro clubs.

DJ Zilch

In 2008, Zilch was featured on Sydney’s Beatz FM radio and became a special guest DJ in Brisbane’s AussieHardstyle.com official launch party. His achievements have set him out to be well known all over Australia and Singapore. Zilch’s biggest performance yet would be playing to a crowd of 1,000 people in the club! The experience was crazy where the crowd went mad, portraying a truly ecstatic scene. Commenting that the shufflers community in Sydney was way better known, DJ Zilch was pleased that the hard-dance shuffle scene in Singapore is slowly growing, and is more than glad to be providing the music for it. So, if you ever hear of a hard-dance music event, be sure to look out for the up and coming DJ Zilch, who has temporarily relocated to Singapore as of 2009.

Moving on, DJ Formica has been in the scene for 30 months. Unlike DJ Zilch, Formica took a quieter and simple approach to the hard-dance scene in Singapore by choosing the route of being a freelance DJ. He often organized his own parties and performed at Home club on Tuesday nights. Hardstyle and electro music was his forte. Being a shuffler himself before, he better understands how his audience would like the music played depending on speed and type of rhythm. The story for DJ Formica all started out in 2006, where he was greatly exposed to the shuffling scene in Melbourne, and drew his interest from there. DJ Formica sets a main aim of spinning in Singapore, where he wants to promote a “clean” hard-dance scene for talented youngsters in Singapore.

DJ Formica

Both these DJs have become known for their own style of hard-dance music in Singapore. DJ Zilch, and our very own home-grown, DJ Formica, we salute you.

Thanks Eunice for the interview! Will keep on rocking!
